What is Our Chance TN?
The Well is teaming up with 31 other organizations across Middle Tennessee to help families understand and combat the benefits cliff. The benefits cliff places families in an impossible situation they want to move forward and are highly motivated, but don’t want to lose benefits if they get a job, take a better job with higher pay, work more hours, take a promotion, or go back to school. They want the best for their families but to do what’s best financially, they can’t move forward. The benefits cliff keeps families from accessing the American dream and we believe it is the greatest problem keeping families from getting ahead.
We know that abruptly losing government assistance can put families in a bind, but what if we created a unique support system to help families make the transition with support and peace of mind? That’s exactly what Our Chance is looking to achieve.
